K6-2 util

I dwnlded the K6 cpu perf utilities from SysOpt.com, but how best to install & use them? I'm on a Cmpq Pressario 5240--K6-2 "chomper" as they call it #8 trying to learn all I can while I'm collecting parts to build. Thanks for any advice
