Do all countries have bank holidays? porsch1909 05-27-2005, 10:42 AM The question you should ask is do all countries have banks ;) fishybawb 05-27-2005, 10:54 AM Perhaps it's only the British ones that get tired and need a holiday after counting all the cash :p porsch1909 05-27-2005, 11:01 AM Or tired after posting so many unpaid credit card bills  DozerLYP 05-27-2005, 11:02 AM what is the holiday in your country, it can't be the same as us. this weekend is "Memorial Day" in memories of the one how died in combat. http://img272.echo.cx/img272/3166/untitled0hr.jpg (http://www.imageshack.us) porsch1909 05-27-2005, 11:04 AM This is just a holiday I think....dunno I'm on holidays till the end of Sept now anyway :D tantone 05-27-2005, 11:10 AM On holiday until September??? I need my rest....Then i will get myself a just above min wage, 7 days a week, 12 hours shift job to entertain me:rolleyes: DozerLYP 05-27-2005, 11:18 AM what you guys have Holidays for no reason, here there's always a reason why we have Holidays... how often you get reasonless Holidays? PS; one thing is for sure, no matter what the reason is for the Holiday. always remember to get a large amount of Beer...http://www.fancysplace.com/smileys/caisses.gif :D porsch1909 05-27-2005, 11:19 AM I'm sure there is some reason......I just don't know it:p My holidays are just summer holidays though:t fishybawb 05-27-2005, 11:27 AM Originally posted by DozerLYP what you guys have Holidays for no reason, here there's always a reason why we have Holidays... how often you get reasonless Holidays? It's called a bank holiday - I'm sure there's some boring reason as to why we don't need to go to work on them, but I can't be bothered to look it up at the minute. And the beer's already bought :D tantone 05-27-2005, 11:48 AM Originally posted by porsch1909 Let me take some holidays first! Try working full time and going to school full time, THEN rest. Full-time students (unless you're in a prestigious, top-tier medical school) have it pretty easy. porsch1909 05-27-2005, 11:53 AM My uni came top for medicine last year  http://www.timesonline.co.uk/displayPopup/0,,13431,00.html Beating good old Oxford and cambridge by quite a bit...they came 8th and 6th respectively  But still yeh we have it pretty easy :p fishybawb 05-27-2005, 11:58 AM Didn't do so well this year though, you must be dragging them down ;) :p http://extras.timesonline.co.uk/gooduniversityguide2005/20medicine.pdf Apologies for the PDF link, I couldn't find anything else. porsch1909 05-27-2005, 12:04 PM As long as we beat Ediburgh we are happy... And as long as the graduate emplyment figure stays at a nice figure I'm also happy :p tantone 05-27-2005, 12:50 PM Your uni may have beaten the others in medicine, but are YOU in that medical school? porsch1909 05-27-2005, 01:29 PM yeh... tantone 05-27-2005, 01:31 PM I thought you were finishing your undergraduate degree? You're actually IN medical school? As in, the next degree you earn is your MD? Bigjakkstaffa 05-27-2005, 01:43 PM I'm off to the Millenium Stadium in Cardiff this bank holiday to see my beloved Hartlepool United take on Sheffield Wednesday in the Coca Cola League One Playoff Final (The irony being that i spend more time living in Sheffield these days than i do back home in poolie land). It's a part of history i tells you --Jakk:t porsch1909 05-27-2005, 01:45 PM In the Uk you don't need to do a pre medical thing. After you leave high school you should be about 18 and you can get straight into medicine. Or if you want you can do a degree then go into medicine. Priority is given to school leavers though Initiallyi thought that going straight to medical school after school isn't a good idea because well I'd be only 17. So started a science degree. Decided it was a waste of 4 years and got admitted the medical school luckily.... My sister is a graduate of Glasgow medical school though....and is purchasing one of those new SLK mercedes thingys....:( Next degree isn't an MD its an MBChB. Just different letters in the UK for a Dr. In other places it is MBBS or something causticVapor 05-29-2005, 06:34 PM Originally posted by tantone Need rest????
