It's very big...and it's not necessarily very good either

Yu try it out Jak?

I have actually been waiting for a demo of that.... and have it downloading now..so i will check it out and get back with my commnets later on.

I 'm waiting for demos of games like F.E.A.R. and or some of the other biggies coming out soon. Hopefully we will be able to play some of those or the game makers will divy up and make one.

Jak.. I just got done playing through quite a bit of the demo and from my standpoint I like it.

Graphics are real nice as are the environments or structural entities and the weapons for use are just awesome. In many ways maybe better than HL 2 and other similar games.

I guess this means they are coming out with the PC version?

I would definitely buy this game at a good price. it seems very entertaining

For those wondering whether to dl this or not.. I would defintiely take that chance and see for yourself. Its worth it.

CC, do it by all means.. It is actually quite good. I know you are a fairly judgemental gamer by your reviews ..but I think this game shows alot of promise. The graphics are better than average..and the weapons you get to use are awesome. They are very well done..and work real well. I would go so far as to say they are some of the best i have used for a game.

All my playing on CSS has kept up my shooting skills real well.

The demo does not have sacvwe points and it seems fairly long as i was not done after playing it some last night...so I will have to start all over..but am looking forward to it.

One thing that was decent to excellent was it has a nice cinematic beginning and storyline that were again excellent in scope and graphics. i sure do like these in games..as it adds history and feel to a game.

release date is 6-05-05 and is going for $29.95 average price.

Now I have to decide if I want this game this coming month... as I am going to wait a bit for the other late June arrivals.

Its a tossup between this game or D3 ROE expansion and some cheap older game in addition.;)

Im trying to get my wife to download it at home so im emailing her from work, but of course she is not answering, I was hoping it would be done when I get home, guess Ill have to wait, ROE by the way Rabbit is pretty good, Id have to say more fun the D3.

yeah I was leaning towards D3 ROE all the way..but you know.... its always hard to sift through dozens of titles past and present and make choices..and I am going to get a new PSU this month ...one with wrapped cables and a bit higher wattage..so I have to be as cheap as I can.
Just too many things to get always. this machine is getting to take over all my free time and money. But..., I like it.

Don't fret the small stuff.. you'll get it sooner or later

Just for thought.... Every once in awhile when I look for games of yesteryear that might be worth picking up I always run across the game System Shock 2.
It is an older game meant to run on windows 98 or ME ..but someone told me it would work on XP.

I was reading some reviews which are always real good ,and one guy said this game will not run on modern computer systems. Is that true or not?? he said it has to do with the ole DOS loading or some such.

Would get that if I knew it would absolutely work. ;)

Well I have finished Area51 demo, and it seems like a good game, that can be picked up on a side. It's a good appetiser. :) :t

Agreed Vitalka.. if indeed it costs only $30.00 normal price, I would believe it is worth it in todays market of games..

The last two games I got were about the same price... ( one being Chaos Theory and the other being COD United Offensive ),and they took me about a day and a half to complete..and were good but short in length, although Chaos Theory was better and what I was looking forward to the most.

It would be so nice if like the days not long ago when i could get like three games a month..but now i have hard decisions to make.
Upgrading my computer and buying new HW additions are expensive and so games take a back seat.... but it gives me a chance to gt some older missed entries that I like.;)

I agree with Widget - avoid folks, it'll be in a bargain bin for £10 a few months from now.

yeah it kinda sucks when you download 720 megs for a demo and play it for all of 15 minutes lol

Shoot what do you want for free. You sound like an ungrateful lot.

The game is not that bad. I think you just want eveything or whatever meets your high expectations or whatever.

they didn't give us a demo for HL2 and nobody *****ed.

The demo is just a demo..and better than 90 percent of the ones that usually come out... and again the game is selling for only $30.00.

WHATEVER opinions are like A.H.'s;)

Why didn't the censors just delete the ed part also??? That is not a bad word in my book.;)

I thought the demo was fine. It's a game I'd play, not for $49.99, but for $19.99 it would be worth it, for $9.99 even more so.

I read the preview here http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/area51pc/preview_6121945.html and I pretty much agree with it after playing the demo.

Pros:

Graphics are nice (reminds me of Halo).

Player movement does is not sloppy, very crisp.

Weapons effects were good.

Overall sound was good, made the game more immersive.

Cons:

It did not recognize the Logitech MX510 or MX518's thumb buttons.

There was no adjustable mouse sensitivity in the demo.

Sometimes I could not jump.

Beats the tar out of Halo... ( what a nightmare game for so much hype )

Your assesment is more accurate than others. The reviews were almost on a good scale overall and far more positives than negatives...

I would still pay $30.00 for it anyway as after reading your link I am even more convinced it is a good game for that amount and not a waste of money. Besides it plays real good and looks real good and thats half the battle.
