Gamespot also has a video with these screenshots in action, the first one is rather impressive with all those cars in the pits and on the track, as well as everyone in the pit crew in motion.

Nope, the makers of GT released a statement last week saying they will be developing solely for the PS3 as it's the more powerful hardware platform

I dont think thats GT5... if you look at the racing suits of the pitcrew they all have gran turismo 4 on the front.

It is GT5, I read the article associated with these pics. I looked at the pictures again, I don't see the 4 you are refferring to, I was however, able to make out a 5 on one of them ;)

lol i just watched it again and i couldn't make out any numbers lol but i tell you one thing the PS2 couldn't pull off those sorts of fluid graphics

I did... Looks like a 5 to me

Also, I own GT4, and there is no scene like that ingame, or in the fmv sequences. Also, GT4 has but 6 vehicles on the screen at any givin time. These shots show more than twice that.

Well, that would make sense considering Polyphony Digital is an inhouse software development studio. The publisher is Sony Computer Entertainment of America. ;)

I stand corrected, I probably do need glasses :cool: That is indeed a 4, however, these still are not GT4 shots unless the entire gamespot article is false as well.

Don't know if it's just me but I was expecting a hell of a lot more if this is GT5. To me it just doesn't look very impressive visually. The people look blocky, the textures look very cartoony at times, there are too many solid colors, no use of heat distortion, dust, smoke, and the shadows aren't very good either.

this is a demo not the finnished product, so I would guess that they are using old textures as a quick fix untill they do the final artwork

Exactly, this are VERY early shots (obviously since they're still using some GT4 visuals) Heck, the PS3's itself is still a year away. This is simply what they were able to pull together in time for E3.

Its a good point that the PS2 could only show 6 cars at a time... there's definitely many more than that in the video.

But apart from that I can't tell it apart from GT4.

Can't wait till it gets released for the PS3... its going to look MINT :D

I also heard a few people say that although the first round of games will be visually impressive, developers won't be able to take full advantage of the PS3's power until at least the 2nd round of games.

I mean, the developers of GT4 had like 4 years experience in developing for the PS2...
