Hi,
i'm just wondering, does computer aging affect its speed and hd access speed? (its approx 2years old, use about 5hrs/day)
Things just seem to take longer and longer to load and its more prone to crashing than 1 year ago...

The components...not necessarily so. But the software and loaded up OS, YES.
How full is your hard drive and when is the last time you did a defrag on it?

If you have absolutely no new sw, hw, patches, or service releases, then there is only one answer...
You have gotten used to the speed of the system and are ready for an upgrade!
Okay, you might have some corrupt files. When it crashes, make a note of the exact error. Then we will be able to figure out more exactly what your computer's problem is.
Good Luck!

Sounds like a bloated & slightly damaged registry to me. You might want to try some third party registry cleaner, like symantec's or i think Microsoft has a free one for Win95. When this happens to me i know it's time to blow it away & start fresh (don't forget to backup) /forum/smile.gif

How does a fat registry slow a computer?

Windows goes through the registry to load and check all settings for different things... as it gets more bloated... takes longer to go through, simple eh? Kinda like a fat burger, takes longer to eat than something from McDonalds... /forum/smile.gif
