Is it possible to share my DVD/CD burner with another computer on my network? I know the other computer can read files from a CD inserted into the drive, but can that same computer use the burning function of the drive? I haven't had any luck with a search of this site, so I'm thinking it's not possible.
Both computers running Win XP and the router is a D-Link 624

Hm - how useful is this? You still have to walk to the other PC to insert the blank media. So why not sit down and select the files (over the network) from there at the same time?
Some people may have specific requirements, but this should do for most of us.

Well, for me it will be useful. My computer is password protected, so in order for my son to use the burner, I either have to give him my password, or set him up with his own account on my computer.
Sharing the burner over the network is the easiest option, for him to be able to use my burner from his computer. They are about 20 feet apart, on the same floor, so he can walk :)

Ah - in my case my son's machine has the DVD burner (too much pocket money!) and I know the kids passwords (although their PCs skip the welcome screen anyway).
