The floppy light stays on. Other than that the system works fine. Any Ideas LazMan 09-20-1999, 06:57 PM Need lots more info than this. There are far too many reasons why your computer never finishes the shutdown process. For example: What is installed on your computer? Have you ever deleted any folders that contained programs that were 'installed' without first using the 'Add/Remove' tool in your control panel? Are there any programs that you've tried to use the 'Add/Remove' tool to get rid of only to be told that there is something wrong by way of an error message - and the uninstallation process dies? Then there are driver related issues: Have you gone into Safe Mode and selected RESTART to see if the computer will shutdown and restart? Look at some of Microsoft's help pages in their knowledge base: http://support.microsoft.com/support/search or you could use their troubleshooter for windows95 shutdown hangs at: http://support.microsoft.com/isapi/support/apgts/apgts.dll I usually use Norton's Utilities to diagnose my client's computers when they have strange problems - I would recommend purchasing this valuable tool (Latest Norton SystemWorks is rather nice) to keep your computer streamlined. GOOD LUCK! /forum/smile.gif Laz cment 09-20-1999, 11:54 PM never delete without going to add/remove programs. Just reformatted and installed everything again, thinking that might have been the problem before. I have Norton Utils 3.0 and have run it. I haven't tried rebooting in safe mode lately, but it did restart from safe mode several weeks ago. Just can't figure this one out. Probably something I didn't do in the bios setup somewhere. Just gets agravating ya know. SysOpt.com
