How to remove Backweb Lite

I guess it is a spyware.

My Spybot found it this night. However Spybot can not remove it from my pc. I planned to get some help from google. But as I can read only Chinese and English, I found no information useful. So I think maybe I can get some help here.

I want to know some details about "Backweb Lite" and the way to remove it.

Yep its spyware

Backweb is a valid program used to connect programs to the internet for downloads and updates ect, but backweb lite is used for distrubution of spyware.

(ps - get the downloads from the SYSOPT stickies)
Ok to remove,......firstly download a copy of Spybot search and destroy 1.3, install and UPDATE. Then run and fix entries.

Empty temp internet folder. Check downloaded program files to as you may see a class - entry whos creation date is the same as when your problem started. Delete this (if it is needed for sumthing like shockjwave or yahoo messenger you will simply be asked to re-download it if it is needed again)

restart comp

U may find 4-6 entries left.

Download highjack this

If you have no entries left and all clean, i would suggest you download SPYWARE blaster and run this in background to stop this happening again.

I solved the problem by downloading a Spybot S&D 1.4. Maybe Spybot 1.4 RC is a little better than 1.3. I will keep all your suggestions.

adaware and spybot ain't that great anymore.

Try Counterspy or Spysweeper. MS Antispy Beta is also pretty good for a freebie.

Well done on sorting it it.

As Midknyte said, counter spy is a very good spycleaner which you should really have and spywareblaster.

For this particular problem though, spybot search and destroy is the recommended tool to completely remove, and 1.3 would have done the same job as long as it was fully updated :p

I have downloaded Counterspy and installed it on my pc. It is really wonderful. However it is not free. I think I can not use it any longer after 15days trial.

What a pity!
