Can't remember if I've asked this before, did a search but not there so presumably not.
I have nero 6 (legit) and update and want to burn stuff to DVD
4 X or 8X. When I invoke the applet in Nero, it offers only to be able to burn from BUP, VPB, IFO inputs.
What are they??
I have some audio files plus a few videos - AViI WAV, CDA & MPEG and so on but they can't be added to the DVD content.
I bought U-Lead in case that was the way but still NG.
Anyone help me out there?

are you trying to make a video dvd? or just data storage?
video dvd has to be converted and what not to mpeg, and mpeg2 for audio...
data, just drag ur stuff to an regular DVD (ISO) type cd..

Well, video mostly. I can do CD s and have put video onto a CD but when I have an avi or mpg video, I try to hook it into a DVD but it doesn't see the file unless I change file type to *.* but then when I try to add the mpeg etc. to the burn, it says not a recognised type and still wants BUP VOB or IFO.
I have found some free software on the net which will supposedly convert my AVI or MPEG stuff to one of those formats but loth to try in case I mess it all up.
Of course, I can make a copy of the files with slightly different names, will that work? eg 'docusk.avi to docusk2.avi' and then work on that.
Thanks shadez for reply.

MPEG is the proper video type but it is not always enough to burn a DVD Video disc.
I also use nero 6 (not the ultra edition) which also causes the BUP, IFO, VPB issue. The lesser version of Nero does not have the components to convert MPEG to DVD video. I use TMPGEnc to convert from MPEG to DVD video formats.

TMPGEnc 3.0 XPress converts many files into MPEG. The TMPGEnc DVD Author will take the MPEG files and convert them to the format your NERO will burn.

OK Thanks rrhael, I'm downloading the trial pack but will probably buy the retail set.
Hope it all works out.
Good vibes to you.
