Game Play getting slower and slower

If someone knows...
Internet speeds are OK, but online gaming sux. What gets me is its always been good, until recently. This is the deal:
1. When I first start a game its great for about 5 mins. Then gets choppy and downright unplayable.
2. I recently upgraded to Win98.
3. I have a 56k V.90 U.S. Robotics Modem
4. VooDoo3 AGP 3000 video card
5. 128megs Ram
6. Pentium2 400mhz processor.
This is happening to all my online games!
Any help would sure be appreciated!!

I used to have the same problem. Especially when I used my Celeron. It even did it a little with my P2 333 at 500. I don't have that problem anymore. All I remember is a change to a P3 and it's all smooth now. Beats the heck out of me!

Any ways, make sure you have turned off MS Office Find Fast from Control panel and remove it from teh startup group (That is if you have MS Office). The Find Fast function will bring a PC to it's knees when it does it's 1/2 hourly disk update.

Thanks, but I was doing fine a month ago with a 233MMX system with a quarter of the memory and a voodoo rush! Could it be something to do with the memory? I do notice the sound gets choppy as well and echoing alot!
