Hello all, my fastest machine is an FIC va503+. It has an AMD 350 K6-2 oc'ed to 392 (at 2.3v). I'm thinking about a Tyan, does Asus make a good socket 7 board? I got the va503 so I could use my 72pin ram chips, now that I have pc100 sticks I dont need that feature anymore- I want all 168pin sdram slots. How about L2 cache? what does that do performace wise?
I want no onboard anything, and dont trust the reviewers as they may be getting kickbacks to push certain manufacturers products.
Thanks,

I have a Tyan, Epox, & had a Soyo. Out of all these I like the Epox the best. Tyan is well built, but if you O/C the it isn't for you. Over all for me the Epox is the board of choice.

I will agree with Herkdog in saying that EPOX makes some great boards. I personally would recommend the MVP3G-M as I have 2 of these boards and they have been great overclockers aswell as 100% stable in doing so!

The SOYO 5EMA+ is a good one, I've had 2 & nary a problem with either. No onboard anything, 3 DIMM sockets, 1MB onboard L2 (the more the better!), easy to use dip switches for everything.
Like the others said, EPOX makes great boards too.
Decisions, decisions... /forum/smile.gif
Good luck
Second the vote for Soyo, I've got 5EHM which is AT form, works well, o/c's well. Good selection of settings, easy to change.
1 meg cache, 3 isa, 3 pci, agp, usb, 2 dimm & 2 simm slots, AT or ATX power connections.
