Can the bios for this be upgraded so it can take a larger hard drive, than originally configured which was 500MB. If possible where can I go toget upgrade??

If you could you would go to Ibm.com Rookie 09-18-1999, 12:59 AM Your going to have to use a Drive Overlay called ezbios to use a over 504m hdd if that bios cant be flashed. My 48633dx cant be flashed either. Different hdd manufacturers have their own proprietary versions. Older West Digitals use Ontrack, Some use EZbios9 and I think they replaced it with Data Lifeguard tools (and all can be upgraded to the newer version). Maxtor calls thier version Maxblast 9. they're all about the same thing but include diagnostic tools specific to the companies hdd. Dont know what Segate calls thiers, but they have one too. Note: you will not be able to load Linux on if you do this- but linux alledgedly doesnt need the machines bios and it will see the whole drive without a drive overlay, or so I'm told. havent loaded it on yet, puter show is tommarrow and will get more toys first!
