Does any one know where we can get copies of old CD-ROM drivers.

Many 486 machines are showing up with their drivers overwritten and no one remembers where (or WHO) though away the old floppy with the dirver info on it.
Many of these CDROM cheapees are not supported by the Win 95/98 boot disk, and are not IDE or true SCSI interfaced.

Any suggestions when the manufactures are out of business?

WPee,
This must be your lucky day! I have on floppy two (2) files that contain cdrom drivers that will work for about 99% of all old cdroms. Email me and I will send them to you via return email.

I've downloaded drivers from this URL when I needed them to work with older drives. It may or may not be what you are looking for If not post the manufacture's name and M/N for the drive. Hope this helps. Livewire ftp://ftp.mitsumi.com/pub/drivers/ideaud10.exe (http://ftp://ftp.mitsumi.com/pub/drivers/ideaud10.exe)
