How do you clean card contacts?

I've been having vidio card problems and I want to clean the contacts (though I think the card is dying or just not seated good enough) but I wondered how best to do that?

you can take a pencil eraser and gentle erase each contact... there is little bit of carbon that is deposited on them whenever electricity flows through. Might help..
