I am looking for a compatable ethernet print server for my mfc. Anyone know of a working solution (other than Brother's own nc-2100p)? Hawking, Zonet, Edimax, HP....? Parallel or usb is okay; connecting to a win xp pro computer on the network is most important.
Thanks!

You'll never get all off the functions with a 3rd-party server. If you need to scan/fax, Brother's server is the only one that will do it.

That's good to know. Few of the server manufacturers post compatability lists on their websites....
I guess I need to decide whether scanning or faxing are important enough to me to spend the additional $100 or so. I have another scanner, and I fax directly on the machine, so probably not...
Do you think a cheepie from Zonet or Hawking would work for printing only? Should it be parallel, or USB? The MFC has both.

I would go parallel and get a name brand server like Linksys, Netgear or D-Link. Don't forget about support.

Something like this might be workable:
