I have been running my dual Opteron server at home with XP64 since the preview program came out. I ordered my upgrade disk last Tuesday but the order is still pending.

Here is a great list of drivers for the AMD 64 bit processor systems:

I am running all of my devices including my HP 5550 printer, my iPaq 3970 handheld, and my Silicon Image SATA hard drive controller with no problems what so ever.

Rand....gratz on using the search tool...unfortunately, you dug up a post a year old. xp64's been released awhile now. you may be in for some gruelling updates and reboots-after-update at this far down the road. If you really want to switch OS or use in a different box, go for it. But if your OS ain't broke, this won't add enough for the average home user to 'upgrade'. Stick with your current version until Vista if you really see yourself wanting an upgrade.

i have it dual boot to that WinXP 64 and regular WinXP 32

up to this point i still see no reason to go to WinXP 64 since the MAJORITY of programs i use are not compatible there.

good news, is that now i have full Drivers supports for all my devices, just missing the programs now.

other wise going to XP 64 it'll be great, performance there is AWESOME !!!!!

too bad, it's still too new, not many programs that worth switching to it yet.

i wont be able to fully run XP 64 until i can find a suitable TIVO type of software for 64bit :(

I have two systems, XP home on the primary and the real McCoy Win XP Pro X64 on the other. I do like X64 and drivers and many other things are improved. I do use both the 32 bit and 64 bit versions of Internet Explorer 7 beta 3, the 64 bit is annoying in that Adobe flash is pretty universal and so many sites want me to DL and install version 9. It just won't do that with the 64 bit browser. I have printer drivers recent drivers for my sound card, video drivers and I have used this with little regard to 64 or 32 bit applications other than the browser I just don't realy notice it much. It does have certain smoothness that I like.

I am just now installing Ubuntu Linux (64 bit) on it to compare a bit.

I couldn't get the HDD partition Sorted so no Ubuntu on that machine and I had tried with 64 bit SUse on DVD before too, same HHD issue, Oh well just looking anyway.
