OK, Had a Linksys BEFSR41 router connected through a hub to two separate computers. (The router had other computers connected direct to the Linksys). The router was connected via the uplink port to the hub and the hub was then connected to the two computers and all was fine until I decided to try a wireless router.
Bought a D-Link DI-624 and wanted to keep using the hub only to find that the D-Link does not have an uplink port and so when I connected the D-Link router up, I got duplicate IP address issues. Not sure why this was so I removed the hub and tried wireless to one of the computers formerly hooked to the hub. This produced a relatively poor signal with lots of interruption of service. Short of running a second Cat 5 wire to the room with the hub, is there a configuration mistake that someone sees or work around that anyone could suggest so that I can get those two computers working without config errors?
I still have the BEFSR41 and could use that as well as the Netgear hub. I don't particularly like using wireless to the desktop and don't want to spend more money trying to improve the signal (at least not yet). Thanks for your help. Biglaker
