Hi all,

I've had a bit of a wierd problem for a few weeks now. I can't access the Ebuyer website (British....haven't tried US).

I get their regular e-mailout and the HTML works fine on that but can't access the website (via www.ebuyer.com/.co.uk or by clicking through the links in the emails).

I've tried disabling my firewall and cleaning out all ebuyer cookies but no joy.

Any ideas?

Marcus.

PS Internet connection is 2 MBit cable modem and all other sites are fine. I am running XP SP2 and Norton Internet Security 2005.

The link you provided doesn't work for me either. However it did provide a link to here:

Sorry, my mistake. I wrote that link in shorthand i.e. www.ebuyer.com or www.ebuyer.co.uk

The link that you gave doesn't work either.

Both of the links you typed work for me. What "does" happen when you try to go to these sites?

(Using IE 6) Internet explorer tries to open the page but after a few minutes just times out.

This is the only site that is a problem. It's wierd because I am a regular customer of theirs and have never had a problem before. I can't think of any new software I've installed recently that may have had anything to do with it.

Could you do me a favour and find the email support address on their website? Maybe they have a fix.

Cheers.

Ebuyer were rubbish and didn't reply to my email.

I have now been able to access the website though :-). Still can't get it with IE 6 but have used Mozilla Firefox and it works fine with that. I'm a bit baffled as to why there is a difference but at least I can get on the site.

Cheers for all your suggestions.

I've finally got to the bottom of the problem. Apparently it is a problem with the NTL setup I am using and there is a quick proxy fix. See here http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/archive/index.php/t-24896.html
