I recently installed winNT on a pc that i had just formated it installed fine - and then asked me as usual to reboot and when it loaded back up it would finish the installation. i did so, when i rebooted it would freeze at the Seatgate Technology Dynamic Drive Overlay thing for the hard drive.

what do you suppose could have caused this?
i really need help to figure this out if you would reply back to me on this BB or to both of the following email addresses it would be a great help. Thank you.

Did you install the NT partition as NTFS or FAT? is this a dual-boot machine ? do you have a FAT32 partition present?

Apparently, you used the Seagate utility to partition your hard drive and write your master boot record. This is not compatible with the NT MBR.

For NT to work properly, you need to remove the Seagate bios interpreter from the drive, either from using the seagate disk it came with or by low level formatting the drive. The drive needs to be partitioned by using FDISK.EXE, not the Seagate utility, and should be detected properly by the mb bios. Set bios detection of disk type to auto and LBA mode to auto, then you won't need the Seagate ****.
