I am running Outlook Express 2003 for my email. When it first opens, it displays at the bottom of the screen, the percentage of completion while downloading email from approx. 8 email servers.

For some reason this morning, it displays the text in a weird font for a few seconds before it gets corrected to the proper one.

I first thought it could be a missing or corrupted font file, but it would affect more text than just the email status and it wouldn't be able to correct it automatically. I'm just confused.

Any suggestions?

Win XP Pro SP2, OE 2003 SP1, All updates have been applied.

Have you tried Help > Detect and Repair?

Outlook 2003, NOT Outlook Express 2003.

You have the language bar right next to your system tray, bottom right corner.

See if the language settings got changed/or hosed...if BP's suggestion of detect/repair doesn't work.

Whenever I do an office install, I always do a "Complete" installation...so I don't have to resort back to the CD Media for repairs and/or additions.

Well smack me and call me Sally! I never really used Outlook, I've always used OE, but I decided to give Outlook a try.

Sorry.

I've found the root of all break downs are miscommunication and confusion.

Clearly stating OS, system specs, programs, etc., get you off on a better foot...Sally....:p
