Abnormal system restarts

Can anyone tell me why my computer tends to restart while reciveing a load (like starting a program such as netscape, ect.)after it's been on for a long period of time or if its been in sleep mode? The processor is overclocked but it was doing this even before I o\c'd it. Any help would be appreciated.
