I just got a new hard disk for my NT box. How do I create an image of the old disk on the new one? The utility that came with my new hd doesn't recognize NT partitions. I tried copying all files from NT Explorer, but some are in use and can't be copied.

I think Norton(Symantec) GHOST will do it.
Search for the 30day free trial of "ghost" here--

You have to attach the HD as a slave. In windows NT go to the disk administrator. If you click on the old HD with CTRL key down and drag it to the new HD it should create it. Please the help under the disk administrator. You have to reboot, while rebooting it is going a while to copy all the data from one disk to another. After that you can use your new disk to replace the old one.

I couldn't get the disk adminstrator trick to work. I click on old drive while holding cntrl, and nothing happens. Also I couldn't find anything in the help about this.

Try logging in as Administrator may work for you.

I was logged on as administrator, but it still didn't work. I finally downloaded ghost and got the old drive copied to the new one. Thanks for the help.
