Hi,
I got a system (Compaq Presario 2110) system here which was given to me for repair.
The sound had stopped working. I investigated and say that there was the dreaded red X beside the sound device.
I decided to download the new XPpressSound drivers from Cyrix with no luck, so I decided to format, with permission, and re-install win98.
Went well, but after the installation of sound drivers and re-boot the dreaded X was there again. I have messed with BIOS settings, e.t.c, but I'm running out of tricks....
