I've picked up a ex-pay tv dish from a guy who no longer uses it. What i'd like to know is it sutable as for a modem downlink?

It's a steel dish about 3foot across. The details of the reciever(collector?) are
Digi 1 aus
AE 29
Single output
LMB 12.25-12.75 GHZ
Serial 570103A1001862
CO(might be LO) 11.3 GHZ

Anybody know if it would be sutable or an address for a site where i can chase it down?

Also does the "ground link" for sending data out have to be conected to the same company providing the sat downlink?

Thanks
HMN

Actually, the correct spelling (although both work) is www.directv.com. If you want to read about the satellite modem connections, that is www.direcpc.com .
