I had a corrupt file on my XP OS and it wouldn't boot up so I reinstalled XP OS. Now when I boot up, it gives me a choice of booting up from 2 OS installs, the 2nd name down is the corrupt one. Do I have duplicated XP OS now? If not, how do I get rid, when I boot up, the second OS name?

Next question, I have no program icons when I click on Start, All Programs. How do I move/add my programs icons to my Star, All Programs? I also discovered I have 2 user names. One has all my programs in it under Owner/Program Files, and the second is almost blank, Paula\Program Files. When the computer boots up, it boots up under the user name Paula which is almost blank with program. How do I get the computer to boot up pemanently to the user name Owner?

1- Edit the corrupted entry from the boot.ini file. See Here (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q289022).

2- Admin Logon (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/setup/getstarted/configure.mspx). Also, Admin & User Pwds in XP (http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/win_xp_passwords.htm).
