I have an (uggh!) PCChips M726 which is a slot 1 motherboard based on the (I think) Ali BXCel chipset. It uses an Ali AGP chipset which means I, too suffer from socket 7 AGP problems. My video cards (Riva TnT and Ati Rage pro 4mb) both run fine except the system becomes unstable and crashes almost immediately when running OpenGL accelerated apps. I have updated to the latest Ali AGP driver and have tried the latest drivers for both video cards. I have already tried clean installing Win 98 but with no luck. I would appreciate some help from people with either the same M726 motherboard or those with Ali AGP socket 7 boards who have solved their problems. Perhaps bios settings or something? Help!
Any advice much appreciated...

Do you run your video card in AGP X2 mode?

I don't know how to chose which mode to run in; but I don't think the chipset supports 2x mode.
