Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : Dial-up networking password?
Hi,,
I have a dial up account to my ISP. When I connect using the dial-up networking screen there's an option to save password, however it's greyed out.. Is there a way to retrieve this option ??
Thanks....

You must be using 95. Install Client for Microsoft Networks in Control Panel/Network.
Should do it.

I too have had this problem with both Win95 and Win98. Sometimes it is greyed out and sometimes not. I beleive that there may be some kind of registry problem (wrong value in switch?). Anyhow I downloaded a dialer called NetLaunch(not sure on the name) from www.tucows.com It works very well. You can enter a user name and password that will be entered in each time. You can schedule connect and disconnect times and pick what programs you want to run on connection.
I don't know about the about recommendation above, never tried it but it's worth a try if you don't want a dialer.

If you have Microsoft Client installed and you login properly, you will not have a greyed out save password button. I
