I have setup my computer and I have problem with my microphone input. Basicly, I cannot record soud on the MS Soud Recorder. Otherwise I can hear myself in the speaker. My friend have simmilar problem. So is it a problem with Win98 or I need to do some adjustment?

Make sure you have the volume turned up in sound controls. It's a real easy thing to miss /forum/smile.gif

Since I just got the answer to this very problem yesterday, let me spread the knowledge.
Go to the speaker icon on the bottom tray, [tool bar], double click on the speaker, when the devices open up, click on OPTIONS, then PROPERTIES, click on RECORDING DEVICES, then select the devices that you want to be available to record from, click OK, the devices with the title bar of RECORDING CONTROL will now be on the screen, make sure that the device you wish to use to record from is not checked in the MUTE block. That should resolve the problem. You can immediately test it on RECORDER. It should now work. One other word to the wise, make sure the volume is lowered before you uncheck the MUTE block, otherwise the feedback is quite a shocking. Good luck..
