I've had an 8110i for about 5mths. now. I had a problem (ended up being my fault) and called HP. During their troubleshooting they had me un-check DMA. They said it could effect buffer over/under-flow problems. I left it like that and it works OK but on a fast machine like yours I think it should be checked. Won't hurt to try and burn an RW and see if it's faster with a large file. Going to try it on mine since you brought it up.
