I can't get the sound recorder to work with a microphone. I have recently acquired a new Micron Millenium P600, the sound card is a Creative Labs Sound Blaster Live. The microphone works in the sound card with the mixer function, but does not work when trying to record. The sound recorder will record from the CD and from other wav files. Any and all help will be appreciated.

Gotta start from the beginning:
Make sure it's plugged into the correct connector.
Make sure the Mic works.
Double click the speak icon on the tray, choose Options, Properties, adjust volume for recording, and make sure the Mic input is selected.

If it's something other than that... well, I don't know then...

Mic works, plugged into the correct spot;
where is the "tray" and the speak that you refer too?? New at this, I need a very simplistic approach, and specific directions.Thanks for the help.

Hiya nukes2! I had the same problem and it's a matter of finding the SB Live recording mixer. The mic will work just fine as a PA, this may be for karaoke use.

There is another mixer for recording in the SB Live itself. I'm just getting setup again after a partitioning failure. If you are still having trouble when I get this back up right, will be glad to provide more info...
