Does anyone have any suggestions why!!! reddog4629 09-04-1999, 06:36 PM Need more info. What OS, browser, etc. Have you got your DUN(Dial-up-networking) configured right? In control panel/network/configuration check for Client for microsoft network, TCP/IP>Adaptor and Dial-up Adaptor. If you don't then add them. In my computer/dial-up-networking/server type is TCP/IP only checked? Maybe your ISP software (like aol) uses it's own client/adaptor. That might be why you can surf ok but can't use mIRC or ICQ. jonathankeeping 09-05-1999, 08:51 AM Hi, Well i'm running Windows 98 at the moment. My modem works fine with IE5, Netscape etc... I have DUN all working fine for the internet (TCP/IP & Dial-Up Adapter). Everything internet related seems to work fine!!! I'm with an english ISP called FreeServe, but the problem still exists with other ISP's. I use a Lucent modem (56K/V.90) but have even tryed a Rockwell too!!! I really have no ideas whats going on. I think it may possibly be the phone line, but other than that I have no ideas. Mirc won't connect and has never connected. I've tryed all different servers and setting, but no luck!!! I NEED HELP!!! reddog4629 09-05-1999, 09:39 AM Can you ask your ISP if they support mIRC? Some here in the U.S. won't. Get in touch with these guys-- http://www.mirc.co.uk/krejt.html Same ISP problems with e-mail too. jonathankeeping 09-05-1999, 09:59 AM Thanks reddog4629 i'll just check that out now. The only thing is, I know someone who is with the same ISP and yet they can use Mirc!!! SysOpt.com
