RamonGTP 04-07-2005, 10:48 PM this is funny... Anyone that knows me knows i'm an AMD fan... I must have left myself logged in at work and my intel fanboy of a boss is messing with me! BuildItYourself 04-07-2005, 10:51 PM lol BTW, In case your wondering, I would never go for an AMD. INTEL RULES No flaming please, just an opinion. chuckbiskut 04-07-2005, 11:12 PM Hello all, I think this is my first post... I was going to say that intel has a great marketing department. I have only used amd for a long time now and have had no problems. MJCfromCT 04-07-2005, 11:20 PM Hi and welcome :t Tech^salvager 04-07-2005, 11:56 PM Originally posted by RamonGTP this is funny... Welcome to SysOpt chuckbiskut Rabbitrunner51 04-08-2005, 03:50 AM Been using my Intel 2.8 800fsb Northwood for over two and a half years..and think its just now getting busted in. Very stable and runs and runs...and never heats up past 57 degrees or so in heavy gaming, and is real low in idle temps...32 degrees standard.. Ones out for awhile now have more cache and some other structural design ...but therer all good. Today I might opt for the 3800 64 provessor AMD has out and use the 929 chipset. ;) Someone Stupid 04-08-2005, 10:03 AM I was wondering if Ramon was drinking when that was posted. Your gonna have a tough time finding a 929 chip - 939 perhaps. :) bob05 04-08-2005, 01:09 PM Originally posted by Someone Stupid I was wondering if Ramon was drinking when that was posted. Anyway another avenue I would take if I had some real money..is to get the new Intel Nvidia 775 chipset which uses the latest high end processors ( 3.7EE ) and use PCI express for one or two VC's..plus other extras abound... ;) ukulele 04-08-2005, 07:55 PM Originally posted by chuckbiskut Hello all, I think this is my first post... It runs like a charm for gaming. It was bought back when Intels still made good CPU's, not like the **** they're putting out today. Although, if I had to get a brand new CPU, it would be an A64 for sure, as they are much more powerful. so.... *sigh.... I have to vote AMD :( porsch1909 04-14-2005, 06:52 AM Intel's 64 bit offering was pretty good was it not  pandaz3 04-14-2005, 10:24 AM No it was not! porsch1909 04-14-2005, 10:47 AM Originally posted by pandaz3 No it was not! Rabbitrunner51 04-14-2005, 11:31 AM If your going to talk about intels 64 operating system or thier up and coming CPU's why don't any of you show some facts instead of these lame **** answers all the time? If your going to comment on something ..give some facts and not just 5 year old brain dead activity. We all know about AMD..its been out for over eight months now.. Also, I am so sick of bias uninformed users who always seem to down a certain company without even coming up with any real meaty facts. Just to say AMD is better is about as lame an answer as there is. it just shows you don't have many brain cells left asor whatever. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Intels. They are fine CPUs also. Would I trade my P4 2.8C for a AMD ?? ONLY if I got a 64 3500 CPU.... porsch1909 04-14-2005, 12:18 PM Originally posted by Rabbitrunner51 If your going to talk about intels 64 operating system or thier up and coming CPU's why don't any of you show some facts instead of these lame **** answers all the time? I never said there is anything wrong with Intels, back when they were actually the most powerful processors on the market 2 years ago. Now, they are trying desperately to keep up with AMD's performance, but they can't. They need to just trash the P4 architecture and create something new. IF they were able to convert the Centrino base platform over to a desktop system configuration, we could really see some results from Intel. Their future lies in Centrino, and I think they need to stop pushing the Prescott core; A) Prescott's are only a fraction of a percentage more powerful than the Northwood's B) Prescott's give off so much heat that they need a huge *** cooler to keep the things from cooking themselves (even though they would throttle their clockspeeds before they'd fry themselves.) C) Intel is charging an arm and a leg for their processors. Why? It's because of marketing. They have the upperhand in the consumer market because they push their products far more than AMD does. (I work at a computer store so I know these things.) People still come in asking what is the most powerful Pentium 4 system we've got because it is the most powerful processor out there. IDIOTS!!! Intel has driven it into their minds that they are the way to go. I try to explain how Athlon 64's are more powerful than the Pentium 4 equivalents, but some people just refuse to believe me, like it's some blasphemy to promote Athlon 64's over Pentium 4's. It's pathetic! Now I don't want anyone telling me that I know nothing. I do this stuff to earn some extra cash. I love my Pentium 4 2.8C. It's wonderful, even if the Athlon 64 is the standard today. I couldn't even touch an Athlon 64 in performance. I even have a Geforce 6800 GT Video card in my computer, which is way to powerful for this computer. Who even started this thread? It's really funny. :t porsch1909 04-14-2005, 03:37 PM Originally posted by pandaz3 No it was not! We where talking about him....well i was anyway...:p MadPistol 04-14-2005, 04:00 PM oh well.
