I was wondering if anyone here could recommend an insurance provider.
The coverage I'm looking for would require liability, bonding, and workmans comp. This would be for building trades and maintanance of a condo association.
I think our current provider is very high, but I won't know until I do a price comparision. I don't need the specifics, just the name/names of a reliable and affordable provider. Thanks

I would look in the good ol phone book and get quotes from 5 or 6 places.

Will help if you get a claims history from your current provider. Especially the W/Comp claims. Rates will be based on past history.

Thanks SRJ for the comps. history tip...no claims filed.

Guess I'm thinking there maybe a reliable little known insurer offering good rates

I use State Farm my self. They have the best rates for my const ins needs.

I've always used insurance brokers with very good results. They get paid by the insurance agencies and its their job to get exactly what you need for the lowest price.
They'll usually give you a side-by-side comparison of several different providers, their products and costs, and it certainly will save you time and money than if you had to do all the running around yourself.

Northern burbs of Chicago

We have an insurance broker, but isn't that just another expense for the middle man. Zybch...may depend on the broker

Found this on the policy last night:
Premium Charge for Certified Acts of Terrorism Coverage $100.00

This is something I need right...
Anyone know what this is...guess I should have looked this over, but I thought the one I live with had :-@ Guess I'll give our broker a call

Wiped out...back later...Thanks for your responces

The insurance providor pays a comission to the broker, it doesn't come out of your payments (except in the 'ultimate' sense) so won't cost you anything extra. Even if say $5 out of every payment went to the broker, they'd probably be able to get you a much better deal than you could find yourself and save you a lot more than $5 a time.

The insurance scandal several months back, where the brokers were getting kick-backs involved large firms. One insurer may provide a larger commision (incentive) and higher rates.

On the other hand, if you did price comparisons of several providers and your broker got you a good policy price, then I'll take your word for it.
So maybe I'll call our broker and ask if there's another less expensive provider.
I have never filed a claim for anything in 30 yrs., so my attitude is that it's money down the drain. Such is life

Even so, as soon as you don't have insurance you can rely on 'something happening'.
