I have spoken with the technical support divisions of both AT&T World Net and Mindspring. I am told by both that there is no way to really determine your true connection speed to the 'net.
I assumed that the Icon in your system tray (next to the clock), would let you know after you placed your mouse pointer over it. I guess that I'm wrong.
The tech reps state that Windows 95/98 only reports a figure in BPS and there is no way to go into your system and make any changes.
I have Windows 98 SE (OEM) and a 3 Com US Robotics v.90 win voice modem. My system came from Dell.
Thanks a million.
