I am trying to run Rainbow Six, it run fine 4 months ago? I have a P2 333, Windows 98, 64m, 8m i740 vid, and soundblaster. when I play it the mouse has got a delay and the game seems slower than it should, seems to be a delay in everything except the sound? Very frustrating and when I first got it, it run great! I have not did any upgrades since then! This ever happened to anyone? Any info and ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!!! Thank you!

Thnx, I did switch a few things around in my BIOS a while back, maybe you can help? My PCI/VGA Palette Snoop is disabled, my Sytem Bios cache and video ram cache are disabled, delayed transaction is disabled!
Everything else is enabled. Is this correct or should some of these be enabled and some other ones be disabled. Thanks.

Did you do any bios tweaking lately. On certain MB's you can select for PnP OS.
Other than that it sounds like unresolved conflicts with your sound card. Try checking in the Control panel under system and device manager If you see any yellow exclamation points there's your conflict just: uninstall specified device, shut down, reboot, and reinstall.

The video card ROM shadow disabled should be fine with 8meg onboard. enable the BIOS shadow RAM is faster it has 32 bit access so try switching it back. If that doesn't help your best bet is to load BIOS defaults and then go to GUIDES on this sites home page it has links to the major BIOS manufactures'. Get the definitions for your specific system and start tweaking. Only a one or two at a time so if you mess up you know exactly what to fix. Also check out www.tomshardware.com that has BIOS stuff too. I'm not familar with your specific hardware so it's probably better for me to leave it at that.

Thanks for the replies, I've got it to work really good. I should have been running in High color 16bit, instead of True 24 and also had to cut Force software off in the options menu! Runs very fast now! Suppose to be getting 64M more memory and a 32M Diamond Stealth 3 vid card in a few days! This should fix all problems and I can run at the top color setting at high speed! Thanks for all your help.
