I just bought a MS Precision Pro joystick and want to use it through my USB. After installing I get a message saying Windows can't communicate with device. I've been in my BIOS looking to enable the USB but there's nothing in there. My system is a Dell XPS450R

There should be an 'assign IRQ to USB' in bios which should be on if your using any USB devices. Also, in your using Windows 95, you may need to install something from microsoft to get USB going, since native Win95 doesnt support USB devices (although some of the later revisions do)

If I'm not mistaken, the MS PP joystick won't work unless you have WIN98.Regardless if your 'puter has USB.

I'm running Windows 98, I've been through the BIOS and there's nothing about USB. I've gone to MS to look, which is about impossible to navigate or let alone find anything. I emailed Dell 6 days ago and got a message about printers? ahh. BIG BUSINESS is'nt it great.

I would probably look at the chipset of your board, is it in fact the 440 BX chipset, or am I mistaken? You may find solice in checking on Intels' site for a Busmaster upgrade for the latest 440 BX, EX, GX boards, it helped out one of my customer getting irregular USB problems.

I just went to Intel and checked out there drivers nothing about Bus mastering for the SE440BX just audio and BIOS up dates.
