OK, HERE'S THE DEAL. Where can I get this thermal glue stuff or frag tape or heatsink glue????? Went to Radio Shack and the guy looked at me like he had no idea what I was talking about.
I am currently working on sandwiching a pentium II processor with small heatsink on one side and fan and large heatsink on the other side. ( I tore apart the processor's outer casing). But I can't find any glue or what ever you use to pull the heat onto the heatsink. Also I was going to pull the generic heatsink off my video card and put a larger one on, but how to put the new heatsink back on. help me??????? Not good with the technical terms of these products. Thanks again for your support.

I'm not quite sure what you are looking for, either "Thermal Epoxy," which is a glue and will permanently bond the parts together, or "Heat Sink Compound," which is like grease and is just an aid in transferring heat between uneven surfaces (virtually all surfaces are uneven by the way).

It sounds like the guy at Radio Shack did not understand or know what you were talking about..and they probably have it right there in the store

you can also make thermal epoxy by adding about 50% by volume of any of the following fine powders to "clear" two part epoxy at the time you mix it:

* red iron oxide

* titanium dioxide

* zink oxide

* red copper oxide

All available at larger ceramic supply stores. Note: do not use excessive amounts of epoxy - a thin layer is best, the thinner the better.

Ok, they did have what they called a Heatsink stick. Some sort of silicone in a stick container Used for transfering heat.
But he had no idea about the Thermal Epoxy.
Guess I will go back and ask again.(if no , then try another store)
Thanks

I guess im using heatsink compound, which doesnt permanantly stick (a pain on a huge upsidedown AGP sink/fan)
Ive also heard of thermal pads and fragtape, besides the eproxy as a sticking/heat transfering agent. Which one you thinks the best?
