I'm trying to import a table of contacts from an Access database into my Contacts list in OL98. The contacts folder is in my personal folder and my mail is delivered to my mailbox. This is the error I get when I try to import the information from the Access database or from an exported Excel file -

An error has occurred in the Microsoft Access (or Excel, if I'm importing from an Excel file) Translator while getting the contents of a file system. The file (C:\blah) was not recognized. The Microsoft Access Translator was unable to recognize this file...

There's a bit more, but I don't think it's necessary to put it in here. It just states the reasons why the file may not have been able to be translated (bad file, etc.). Again, this happens when I try to import directly from the Access database or from an exported Excel file. I've also tried it by exporting the data to a .txt file but that didn't work, either. That one gave me a different error, though. Can anyone help? What's the cause and the fix here? Thanks for the help!

The only thing I can suggest is do either one of these possible solutions.

1.) Reinstall those apps so they can restore a corrupt file.

2.) Go to Microsofts web site and update with the latest service patches for Office and Outlook 98.
