I have 2 installed hard drives. On boot up my BX6 V2 board reads both of them. However in Win98 it does not locate. 1 drive is a Western Digital, and the slave is is a Maxtor. Is there way of correcting this?? I am not using ez-bios, and I have had it recognized in the past. Could it be that I removed the ezbios on my last copy. I use the Maxtor as a bak-up.

Hi Arnold, this may be elementary but western digitals can be pretty specific about jumper settings. Do you have a western digital version of ezbios? it has a help file that shows the jumper specs- maxblast does as well- you dont have to install ezbios to read the help file...
Or you could go to the west dig site and look it up- hope that helped a little

If it was a new install
did you run fdisk so windows could see it

I know this may sound beginnerish but have you set one for master and one for slave??
I never had this problem, running 2 WD's.
You really should go to WF website and download the newest version on EZBIOS.

ARNOLD!!!!
I'm glad to see someone else has the same prob as me!
I, too, have the BX6V2, and I, too, just installed a second HHD. At first, BIOS saw it, win98 didn't...
Then, fdisk'ed: BIOS saw it, WIN98 saw it, but... now if I go to system, under control panel, I get an IDE controller conflict. I don't know what do do! And yes, I've checked my jumper settings 4.3 billion times.
