At work we have slews on intranet sites that all use Windows passwords. We tend to check the box to keep it so we don't have to memorize them or keep lenghty lists. The issue came up when someone lost their hard drive & now when back to the sites & didn't know their username & password (please, no backup remarks - it's a sore subject). Any, is there a utility that can read the PWL file that the password are kept in. Please, no security sermons either.

Thanks

Can't you just delete this user and make a new one that you can know the password? Or just replace the password with another one>?

Another thing to consider is have the web page email you either a new password or the original. Most sites have this feature, but you will have to guess on the username/email address used for each page.

Another possible choice is visit www.zdnet.com (http://www.zdnet.com) .

They have an extensive Library of programs, I'm sure you will be able to find one that you can use for your situation.

Good Luck.
