Do you have this game already? I read it is coming out real soon this month if not already and I do have the demo and played it. Beings that I love racing games ( good ones), the demo looked impressive enough....and might put this on my list.;) Bigjakkstaffa 03-25-2005, 06:33 PM Its pants (for want of a better word) - one to stay away from by all accounts, already being touted from worst game of the year. If you liked what you say try pickign up the original Driver, you should be able to get it for next to nothing. It was (and still is) a really enjoyable game --Jakk:t Rabbitrunner51 03-25-2005, 09:07 PM Jak....Thanks for the review and info.. It really means alot to me to know these things and also othres opinions I do listen to. Wonder why its so difficult to make any good GT or Lemans type games . Sometimes I think its a matter of putting too much or too little into something and not concentrating upon the physics or graphical content enough. Never heard much more about the CM Rally 2005 game after it came out and have the demo. It is pretty good for that style of racing. I have played the earlier Driver game before and liked it so so . The company that made NFS series had their act together from day one and those games are hard to beat...but from an overall standpoint..they got away from the track or roadcourse thing and went for the glitz and glamore thing The only car racing games I have are the NFS 5 and Hot Pursuit series and FI 2002. Thats basicly it. Both are very good games..but I look for something new and improved like all of us.;) mowerss1 03-26-2005, 09:05 AM i,m waiting to buy the new gtr racing sim, i have the demo and really like that. i love racing games like nfshp2, nfsu2, nascar 2003, flatout. i think its out nowjust need some money. have a nice day gaming brothers Bigjakkstaffa 03-26-2005, 09:59 AM If your into Lemans then the "Lemans 24 Hour" game that they brought out a few years ago (say 1999) is a great little title, and again you should be able to get it for nothing. Tiff Needells commentary aside, its well worth a look at. As for Colin McRae 2005, moreof the same really, soldi but nothing too inentive The series has sort fo stagnated since Colin McRae 3 and remained at a constant sort of "quite good" level. As such, its not a game i rusehd to get, but will probably be picking up now its entered budget-land. If Arcade-Rallyign is your thing then McRae remains where it's at, for those of us who are really into our rallying as a sport (like me) however Richard Burns Rally is the title of choice --Jakk:t Rabbitrunner51 03-26-2005, 12:02 PM Way back when i remember when the Lemans 24 hours came out and almost bought it. I might look for it where I usually get my games... Budget is what I do after i get my one game a month or so.... I know it sounds cheesy..but i do not have a forcewheel as yet and usally just use my gamepad..which works fine. Someday i will get one as they are not very expensive for a good one. And it goes on and on... Just too much stuff ....HW and games to get and not nearly enough money for most of it. The Flatout game is actually very good and amusing as well with the physics of being able to hit stuff and everything in the game breaks apart and or goes flying..including the cars.... Would probably be my first choice of something different to try. Bigjakkstaffa 03-26-2005, 04:03 PM I've got a Logitech Wingman Formula Force wheel, truth be told ive never tried the foce feedback (mainly because ive not got the power adaptor or spare plug socket's to do so. It's nto a bad wheel, was VERY cheap considering the going rate for wheels. To eb honest though on the vast majority of games i tend to go back to Keyboard for my driving, theres only really the NFS series which i feel entirely comfortable "wheeling" it with --Jakk:t Rabbitrunner51 03-26-2005, 09:16 PM I find alot of gamers like to use keyboard controls for driving games...but in the real fast and furious games like NFS HP I have to use the gamepad.. Much more control over everything.. If I was strickly into playing driving games..I might get a forcewheel...but I think I willl just stick with the GP. Thinking about getting the Sturmovik WW2 flying game ( there are two out plus alot of extras..like missions ). it is very cheap to buy with alot of replay and missions. Get so stuck on what we all seem to play mostly..FPS and the like. ;) Bigjakkstaffa 03-27-2005, 12:22 PM You'll need a decent joystick for Flight Sim's, i've got IL2 and a few others and it just cant be doen effectively on a gamepad or kb/mouse, thankfully one of my mates is really into flight sims and has a decent logitech joystick (cost him about £30 - a decent pirce), makes all the difference --Jakk:t SysOpt.com
