When I boot up I receive a flashing "SPD not found at DIMMM(s)2". This flashes by, but nothing else indicates a problem. Any ideas?

Bleeding Edge 08-30-1999, 07:41 PM The SPD (Serial Presence Detect) is an eeprom chip on the memory module that relates information to the system bios about the speed, timing and type of the memory you have installed. Check your memory settings in the bios with whatever info available in the motherboard manual. Look in the Bios for a setting similar to 'Memory Auto-Sizing' or 'Memory Detection' method or something like that. Typically this is set to Auto (or Enabled or Auto Only, depending on the Bios)for modules without the SPD. BBA 08-30-1999, 10:19 PM If you use non SPD PC compliant DIMMS ( IE: Old ram) on a 100Mhz Chipset MB, you will see this. Just go into bios and turn off any and all hold on errors settings.
