Seems like a good deal ??

Please note: I was reading up on this drive a little, and it seems for system to see more then 137 gig, you may need a seperate controler. One site said you must have XP SP1 at least for xp to see it. Another site said he contacted WD, and WD said to use the dos install disk, which did not work, but his post said he used Partition Magic in order for his system to see it.

If any one has this drive, please post the real scoop, as I am thinking about picking one up for this price--RH-

PS I have a 80 gig WD "JB", and it is a good little drive. I am searching for the difference between the JB model and the JBRTL, and I just do not see a difference--any one??? I am guessing the RTL may mean retail, but just a guess??

You'll be able to use the 250gb drive if you don't have XP but you'll have to partition it. The computer then will think you have several smaller drives. As the operating systems have changed throughout the years, there has been an increase in the capacity that the OS recognizes solely as the C drive. If you have any literature from WD on your 80gb hd, it will show you the breakdown of the OS and what size drive it will recognize.
