Hey everyone,

Does anyone know how to take a publisher file and convert it into a word document?

I have created a form in publisher and I want to be able to e-mail it to clients and have them fill it in the empty fields. Most people only have word, so I have to get it into a word format. Once they have recieved it, I want them only to be able to enter in the fields I have left empty. Hope this makes sense...

I did try to cut and past the whole thing but it gets all messy...

Do you have any sudgestions or know of a document that can help????

Thank-you!!!:t

word has built in converters for pretty much most word proc / dtp programs

assuming you installed them

if so, just launch word and open the publisher file

Also once I have figured out how to convert it to word, is there certain cells I can lock? :)

Do a reinstall of Office...and choose modify or add new features...don't remember which it is...:)

Under word, you'll drop down a little box...and install all features of it to your hard drive...converters, etc.

That should get you there.

Cells...do you mean Excel?

Might be best to create the fields needed in excel, then insert that into word.

Excel has better formatting features for that...cells and fields to fill in...

Hope I didn't open another can of worms for you...:)

You have to protect the document to lock anything.

You can look through word help to figure out how to make forms. All the information you need should be there. It will tell you how to make editable fields and lock other parts of the form.

I have never made a form so I can not be more specific, but our HR department makes Word Forms all the time with this protection feature.
