brothers in arms is not good, i have been playing it and i do not like it at all... can you say SCRIPTED????????? its rather pathetic actually how bad the ai is and thats on the second to hardest difficulty, i can just walk around and walk up to them and shoot them and strafe every shot they take at me, as for the multiplayer thats horrible to... what a waste of money this game was, i guess it shoulda just stayed on the console

Well I'm playing Brothers in Arms. And all those things you mentioned Dennis never happened to me. If I go out the cover and try to come up to an enemy I get killed. Anyways I like the game. Multiplayer is fun.

BF1942 - my kid won second place and a special engineering association award in a county science fair doing his computer project this week

2 of the 6 judges he talked to spent 30-45 minutes talking about Battlefield 1942 and Battlefield Vietnam after they scored his project - one wants to join his clan

I've been playing KOTOR2, Half-Life 2 and Doom 3 mostly. I'm waiting for BF2 to come out so I can get into some good clan battles again. Ahh, I miss the times when Ghost Recon was the top dog for online FPSs... that game was so fun... till everyone figured out how to glitch the maps and turn on IFF names

Are you daft? What it scores is only proportional to the amount of money that got shoved into those reviewers grubby little paws before they unleashed their 10,000 monkeys with typewriters to get a "review" out.

Oh, and I played the SWAT4 demo, that game was pretty fun... the enemy AI were a little weak, but your NPCs were smart and knew what to do when you gave 'em an order. And the orders were easy to give out too. It's worth the try if you like the genre.

I play CS Source like a religion.

The best first person shooter online at present...

Am also getting much better at it as to begin with I really SKed.

Now on certain servers I get in the top or near so on both sides often enough.;)

I just tried the WarHammer 40K

and i'm not a happy camper, is not bad, but is not exiting either

it felt much like playing an older RTS game in 3D engine.

WarCraft 3 still has the edge over RTS so far, being able to incorporate Hero stuff + RTS stuff + TONS of features not available in other RTS games

and everything is 100% programmable, if you like to make your own maps and games.

a thing WarHammer 40k did not even include

at least C&C Generals had a crappy map editor with it :p

Rabbitrunner51
03-22-2005, 04:11 PM
I got Warhammer 40k right after it came out and finished it..and while I enjoyed it ...I can see why you feel it was ore like older RTS games and for some reason..I have not felt like playing it over..just yet. No real desire to..and that probably tells you something. very good game..but not a whole lot of replay value..and I have not tried the MP yet.

Shoot... I enjoyed GC 2 much better and replayed that two times over already...

I am still in the midst of playing Warcraft 3 and Frozen Throne
and find I get stuck or have a hard time once in awhile..which does not deter from the fact it is incredibly complex. and very
intersting game both gameplay and stunning graphics.

After having to send a game back i just got..due to the fact it would not play on my machine....(COR ),once in awhile in good reviews and being selective does'nt always make up for what our expectations are.

More than likely get the D3 expanison next..then SC 3 and maybe I might get Brothers in Arms... ( would have been better off getting that game instead.;)

I just finished Sith Lords. It was too much like the first one which I really enjoyed. Halfway through the game my guy was so powerful that I am taking off armor and fighting bare handed just to avoid walking through all the enemies. Too linear.

The solution?

WoW

This is the first online game I have ever played and from what I read it's supposed to be the best. I was always a big fan of the Warcraft/Starcraft series so I was willing to try it online. It's as good as everyone says. Huge open ended world with lots of things to do and ever expanding content.

This should keep me busy until another Morrowind title or Fallout 3 are released.

Bigjakkstaffa
03-24-2005, 11:02 AM
Picked up KOTOR 2, seems pretty good, although i never played the first one, which is apparently much better.

I'll almost certainly be getting SC:CT next week, and as a big fan of SWAT 3, the SWAT 4 SP demo has convinced me that'll be worth splashing the cash on.

I was thinking about the matrix online, but Im not sure I havent heard all that much about it in sysopt. I might be getting Swat or KOTOR this week. I may hold of and see what the matrix online pulls out, I might just get it to try something diffrent for a change.

JediOfDarkness
03-24-2005, 11:58 AM
Trust me, go get KOTOR1 and the story in KOTOR2 will make much more sence. But I actually liked KOTOR2 better, because of some of the simple stuff they added, like the ability to look up :p

Also, all the new force powers and feats are awesome. Especially the ability to become a martial artist :D

currently playing Port Royale 2

is extremely addictive, is not great, but is
good

the game is very relaxing, is fun if you like games like Civilization / RTS games, played from 10pm to 5am without even noticing :x

it might be boring for those that likes FPS games, which i find extremely boring. :D

glad to hear all you die hards try out new things...

As for me..I usually don't get too excited about most of the latest
MMO's. usually just stick to tried and true Mp games...that comer with the games we get.

Just for the heck of it I was playing some of COD online earlier and actually,it is quite good...and they have added some new maps..so I might give that more attention in the near future.

Keep tossing thoughts about whether i will ever get WOW as I guess it is so good and so popular...but actually its more of paying monthly fees that keep me from getting it..and not the like or dislike of the game or style of play.

I have a feeling that when BF 2 comes out... it looks so sweet from what I have seen...no doubt this willl be the most played then other than Cs Source.
Just got another look at more of the screenies for it..and this looks like the best looking game and graphics for MP I have seen to date. Maybe even more impressive than HL2. The overall detail they put into this(not mentioning the many novel ideas and interfaces )...it just looks extremely impressive.;)

Brothers in Arms = hell of a game.

Absoloutley brilliant game, admittedly probably nto for everyone, those expectiong MOH/CoD style fast and furious action probably wont agree with it, but this is a truly groundbreaking FPS none the less.

Dropdead gorgeous graphics and clever gameplay that makes you think about and plan your actions - if i deploy a squad to lay down a covering fire, can i sneak a squad around the flank and capture that machine gun nest without being torn to bits?.

Thing Full Spectrum Warrior but with FPS action (instea dof not being able to interven directly in the action), set in a cinematic (and apparently true) WWII story.

A very early candidate from GoTY methinks

Vitalka

I have no idea if it is possible to make your squad mates to use a muchine gun. They can use nests for cover though :) . I found that it's best to get around a nest with a machine gun your self and through a granate in it , while my squades get all the attention. You may as well take one squad with you if you got two of them.

Ive just gotten to the final section of D-Day+6 (i think), Retaking Caretan, and its a pain in the backside, gonna take a break and come back to that tomorrow methinks.

Awesome little game though, what with the death bells beginning to toll on the Medal of Honour games, this (along with CoD of course) coudl be the next big thing in WWII FPs'

The more good reviews I hear from gamers like you Jak and some others also..., may just have me hankering to pick this up. Only question is when? , as now I do think I am defintiely going to get this game( BIA's.)

Two major game sites gave it a five star review...and that means something.

Myself, I do not mind slower pace and strategy at all...and actually prefer this in alot of the scenarios...not to mention it is more difficault to translate into a quality product than the former.
I guess from what I read the controls within the game itself are pretty good and useful, and they use some new concepts for this, and I guess they did a good job of.

There is a full length screenie out with the developer and designer and they talk about how and what they did and how the game operates... I have that. He sure seemed proud of what they were trying to accomplish.

Now I have at least four games I want almost as bad....so its just prioritize and ect.. one at a time until I can get all of those I chose.

Half-Life 2....Disappointed

Has anyone played Star Wars Republic Commando? I played the demo, but I'm not sure if it's worth 45 bucks.

I played Republic Commando. And I think it's not worth the money. The whole game is all the same. The graphics are nice and sound is ok. But the game gets boring fast because of it's weapon loadout, levels, and mosnters. I didn't even finish the game cause it was boring after a few levels.

Multiplayer in brothers in arms is very well made. I played with my bro over LAN and it doesn't feel empty, even though we play one on one, but we got bots under our command, it's kind of cool for small LAN gaming. No need for 24 peope be in one place. :) So if any one got four PCs, capable to run the game, in their houshold can have friends over and play for hours. :x :D

Played CoD twice through since January. I never see any servers up though.

Played HL2 start to end in about 3.5 weeks. Very fun game. But when I got to the last level the momentum sorta gave out. I don't even have it installed right now, and the only reason I can think of to reinstall is to play CS:S.

But my online gaming has been taken up by SW:Battlefront which I'm addicted to.

When I decide that I want my A kicked real good online I fire up MOHAA. I still find good servers all the time.

I've also played a little with America's Army. Free is the best part about it. But once again, I suck.

Every couple of days I get the itching to load up Morrowind again. I was playing it about a month ago but had to nuke my drive so I lost where I was.

And all this reminds me, I never did finish Halo yet....

LOL. You had low fram rate in the mother ship level and you never got passed it, so i don't see how you can say whole game is same.

Any way, the game is fun, keeps entertained for 10 to 15 hours. Multiplayer sucks. It's actually the first Star Wars game that i liked, but it's not worth the money it's being sold for now. !0 bucks would be perfect.

Trying out Galactic Civilization

is pretty good IMHO

alsmost identical to Master Of Orion 2

I hated Master of Orion 3, such a shame considering MOO2 was soooooo goooooood.

well thanks to Galatic Civilization it almost feels like i'm playing MOO2 in an updated enviroment :)
