Your Ideal Game

If you could create a game without any hardware limitations, buget or any other constraint what would it be?

I'd like to make a game where you could do anything, essentially as close to real life as you could make a game...you would have a character that you would use throughout the game, get him/her a job, be able to drive a car, fly a plane, ride in a boat, do whatever you want basically, including go down to the local bank, hold it up, and flee from the cops...you would be able to go anywhere you wanted on the earth (or even off it). Of course, I couldn't begin to fathom how much hard drive space a game like that would take up.

OMG where do I start...
Ok no doubt it would be an MMORPG. Final Fanstay is about the closest anyone has ever come to it. You would be your own character, you could raise stats and the lvls where unlimited. But each lvl would require a certain amount of experience. And quest, there would have to be quests. But new one would continue to come up. Such as you finish like 30 quest you complete one stage of the world. Then you unlock anither part of the world with 60 quests that are harder. Then as you complete more quests you unlock more areas of the world. But after you complete all the quests. You go back to certain areas and more quests are waiting to be done. So you have like a update of 30 quests every month. It would be awesome. Then you could fight other people only in certian areas. Then once your stats get to certian levels you can build certain things and be able to get to unreachable areas. You could also trade. And weapons wouldn't be guns. That would be to crazy and not fun. Bows, arrows, swords, magic, all the things that FF. It would be massive the biggest game ever made. They would have to sell you a hard drive just with the game becuase it was so big. And the people wouldn't have to pay to play. Ya would be the best game ever made with people updating it about once a month.
It would be like Runescape and FF mixed together than magnify by 300% than the world would mix with both of Runescape world and the FF world to make a super world. Ya thats the game that I would buy....

ok let me abit more specific...:)

i've always wanted to make my own game, which yet today after about 20 years i still have not seen to exist.

and i always lack time of my own to make such a complex game

My ideal game is pretty much what is out there already, but all in one packaged.

but of course it's going to be Multiplayer, so MMORPG is definitely the best way to go about it.

But i'll add a new rule to the MMORPG universe, currently most MMORPG you log out, the life inside the MMORPG continues (obviously) but that means this gives you an unfairly disadvantange over the rest.

So here are 2 choices if i make my own game.

option 1: when you log out, either your hero and all its possessions goes into a Cryogenic state (sci-fi game) or falls under a spell (mystical game) something like undestructible or things along that line, maybe hidden? out of phase etc..

basically so people can't steal from you, and take away your house/car, whatever

option 2: instead of the above, set your character into APC mode (AI), like send it to a training academy somewhere so the Hero keeps on training via an AI, so when you come back and have time to play is at level X with the Abilities you chossed it to train on.
As for houses / and other properties, then you will have to hire some computer to watch it for you, so it becomes a sort of goverment property, and no one can touch it.

for the game concept

i'll probably do a He-Man type of thing.

Merge magic world + Sci Fi world together.

Story line, well definitely it gotta be something fresh and new (extremely hard to come up with something new now)

as for the games to do things.

now this is the fun part.

the game will be a mix of Lineage + Sim City4 + The Sims2 + Civilization3 + Ultimate + WarCraft3 + StarCraft + Diablo2 + Racing games like TOCA / Nascar/Need for Speed + Dune 1 and 2 + Final Fantasy series + FreeLancer + FlashBack + StarWorlf + Trade World + unreal + StarTrek series + Scorched Earth + Empire Earth + etc... (all your favorite games). :D :x

basically it will all be one big giant world.

The hero will at his own choice follow the story line, or can go free will.

in the game like typical RPG you will go from place to place to earn things, get experience, find items, unlock missions, etc.

so following some story line might be required to to to certain places to say Race a Car/spaceship/horse, etc...

or you can maybe be lucky to meet a friend and hire him to take you there

on the other hand, you can be a businesma, a racer, an astronaut, etc, etc.

you can play any part of the game you want, you can go to another planet, you can be a mage, or a weapons man (sounds very He-man here :p )

Anyways.. you get the idea... is simply huge!!!!

too much for 1 person to program and make it all

maybe if I hire Blizzard and all the people in EA, and Ubi soft, and etc... to collectively make such a game

where we can MicroManage, and MacroManage everything, and at the same time be that character in the game :)

i like the rpg + multiplayer elements, basically any game like that but as you sid limtless
