Greetings all,

I have an annoying problem.

I run a laptop with Windows XP SP2.

I have several external hard drives, all of them using FireWire.

Sometimes I run them individually, and sometimes I daisy-chain them.

On one of my drives, when I try to disconnect it, I always get the "Device generic volume cannot be stopped right now. Try later."

I don't have anything open on that drive.

My other drives are okay. It always happens with just this drive.

Any ideas?

Disable System Restore on all external drives. Scan all drives for viruses and spyware. Something is running in the background.
