Hi All!
I've got a Seagate SCSI drive plugged into an adaptec scsi controller. When I tried rebooting I get a "no operating system" message just after the BIOS goes through the start up. The BIOS sees the SCSI card and that there is a drive on it, but then dies.
I think whats happening is the system is trying to boot from the SCSI drive but can't and just freezes.
I have also gone into the BIOS and made sure the "boot from SCSI" is turned off. I have tried a miriad of jumper settings and have tried ID's 1,2,4,7 always the same response-"no os"
I think the last thing I need to tell you is the drive is labled "C:" Is it possible to change the drive letter with PQmagic or something similar?
My system:
P200
Asus mobo w/ award bios
196 megs-o-ram
2 gig ide (with NT sys files only)
13 gig ATA-66 plugged into a Promise controller card (with all my programs on it)
adaptec AHA-1540 SCSI controller
Thanks!
