Hey all, I've got a question about a wireless router.
My ISP finally brought DSL to our area, so I signed up for it and got my modem from them. Now I need to set up a network between three computers to use the internet on. I want each one to only have a certain ammount of bandwith to use, for instance one have 25KB/s and another have 50KB/s, ect. I know I can do this with a program, like NetLimiter, which I do use, but I'd rather have a router that I can just adjust the settings. How do I know which routers will allow me to adjust speeds?

I've never heard of one.
Why would you run that sort of thing anyway? Any benefit would be eaten up by the program overhead.

there are routers that can definitely do this, but it will cost you dearly...

Well, I read on some site (wish I had the link) that said that there are routers that allow you to allow certain IPs connected to the router a certain amount of bandwith. And from the way it was written it didn't seem like it was talking about $1k~ routers, as it was aimed at a home user...

It would seem unnecessary, unless you were trying to host different apps on the different boxes that wanted to control in more detail. And even then you may be able to use that particular app to control the bandwidth (ex IIS bandwidth throttling).
I'd be curious to see that link if you can find it though.

you may also try looking at level1 switch/routers.
