I have a tekram mobo, p5mvp A4, 100 mhz, agp
it is bios ver 1.01
tekram has a new bios for it, but when I try to update it, the flash program gives me a error!
It says...
"source file not found!"
how can it not find my bios????? the bin file is in the same directory with the flash, and i typed it in etc.!

Try this. This is for an award bios update, but I'm sure the basics are the same

1. Prepare a clean bootable floppy disk. Using the command prompt (DOS prompt) insert a blank floppy disk in your A: drive and type: FORMAT A: /S
2. Copy the Award flash utility (AWDFLASH.EXE) and the appropriate BIOS BIN file to the boot disk created in step 1.
3. Restart your machine keeping the bootable floppy disk in the A: drive. At the command prompt (DOS prompt) type the following: AWDFLASH XXXXXXXX.BIN
Replace XXXXXXXX.BIN with the actual BIOS BIN file name copied during step 2. This is referred in the next steps as the "File Name to Program."
4. The flash utility will then execute and load the BIOS BIN file and then display the following prompt.
Save the BIOS? At this point the BIOS utility will display a screen similar to the one shown below and prompt you if you wish to save the BIOS. This is the name of a file the flash utility will create, to save the current BIOS which is already in your system (backup). You can select YES (y) or NO (n). If you select YES (y) you will be prompted for a file name to save

File Name to Save: This is a name of a file the utility will create to backup the original BIOS (example OLD.BIN). Do not use the same file name for both "File Name to Program" which is the new BIOS and "File Name to Save!" which is the backup of the original BIOS.

5. After the flash utility saves the original BIOS from step 4 above you will be prompted to program the new BIOS.
Are you sure to program? If you wish to continue and now flash the new BIOS code into your system answer YES (y) to the question. You will now see a status bar as the BIOS code is written. When the program finishes you will be prompted to restart the system.

6. Restart the system and enter the CMOS setup by pressing the DELETE key during the memory test. Select LOAD SETUP DEFAULTS from the bios setup menu. Select SAVE AND EXIT. Answer YES (y) when it asks if you are sure.

Good Luck In All,

Mike P.
